Hi, I’m Rachel.

I’m an award-winning higher education communications and social media professional, currently based in North Carolina.

I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2012 with a B.F.A. in Technical Theatre Production & Design, along with a minor in Fine Arts. In 2018, I earned my Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from UNCG, where I studied as an Arch MI Merit Scholar.

As for professional experience, I began my higher-education communications career as Assistant Director of Advancement Communications and managing editor of Guilford College Magazine, where I spearheaded the relaunch of the print publication after a two-year hiatus. I later served as Assistant Director for Social Media for the College of Engineering at NC State, translating complex scientific research into engaging narratives. After working as a digital strategist for Our State Magazine, I returned to NC State, where I currently serve as a social media specialist for University Communications and Marketing — overseeing multi-platform digital strategy, managing major university campaigns, and launching our Alumni Creator Program.

My creative and digital storytelling work has been recognized across the industry. I have won multiple Best of CASE District III Awards and a CASE Gold Award for campaign execution, video storytelling, and social media content. Notably, my video Narrative Thread was screened at the 2024 Longleaf Film Festival in Raleigh.

My other interests include reading way too many books, listening to podcasts, running, hiking, and generally being outside as much as possible.
